Traffic Jam – Short Essay 1
Traffic Jams are a great problem throughout the world, and the government of various countries tries their best so that they can control traffic jams in various cities, but they are unable to do so.
The population of the country is growing day by day and by the growing population, they also need some resources to travel. Most of the people assume that car is the perfect way of the transportation as it fits their budget and by buying a car they can flaunt about their money as well. As the number of people is increasing so are the number of cars but the land of the country is still the same, and that is why traffic around the country can’t get controlled.
The government of India made a lot of plans to stop traffic jams like building metros trains and metro buses which are the perfect way of public transportation. However, it is quite clear that even after the metros and buses, the traffic jams are still the same.
People used to travel by cycles and cycle rickshaws before and due to which the chances of getting stuck in a traffic jam was very less. However, people nowadays use bicycles and cycle rickshaws very less instead they use motorbikes and cars or another way of transportation due to which the traffic jams are getting higher day by day.
Various cities of India are known as one of the busiest cities in the world, and that is why one can just imagine about the crowd in the city. And all that crowd will travel somewhere daily, and that is why those cities are full of traffic jams daily.
To avoid the traffic jam, the government should increase metro lines and other public transportation so that people travel more from public transportation than a private way of transportation.
Though it is quite impossible to control traffic jams nowadays, trying is not bad.

Traffic jam is a prevalent and bad situation nowadays all over the country and India as well. Its main reason is the over-population in the country, city or specific area. It happens in large cities.
In today’s world, streets are full of cars, buses, trucks, and vehicles of all kinds. In such situations, it is widespread that the traffic gets stuck somewhere some or the other time. When the traffic gets stuck, and the vehicles cannot move from their position because of it, the situation is called a Traffic Jam.
Traffic jam is an unfortunate reality of modern life. We use roads and cars to travel swiftly from one place to another. But in reality due to traffic jams, we get stuck in one place, and our travel and time schedules get disrupted. This can be a very frustrating experience in reality.
A typical traffic jam involves cars and different vehicles stuck in parallel rows, one behind the other. As you sit in your car, there is nothing that you can do apart from waiting for the traffic jam to clear up. Some people listen to the radio. Some people say their mental prayers. Some finish their business and personal calls.
These days most radio channels and GPS [Global Positioning System] have live updates about the traffic situations. So you can plan your route accordingly to avoid traffic jams of potential spots with likely traffic jams. Also if you are unfortunately stuck in one, you can also get live updates about the exact location and severity of the jam, with an estimate of the resolution time.
Most people live in different areas and work in other parts of the city. So in the morning and evening after school and office, there is a peak rush on main and central roads of the city. People also move from one part of the city to another for buying stuff or attending classes, so that’s also a preeminent reason for a traffic jam. The standard of living has improved to a great extent, and that’s why people nowadays afford their vehicles, e.g. bicycle, car, and motorbike. In this way, it adds more pressure on the roads in addition to public transport.
Adverse Impacts of a Traffic Jam
- Fuel wastage
- Delay
- Increased Air pollution
Conclusion
So keeping in view the above major problem we all should play our roles in controlling the big issue of a traffic jam. Roads should be widened by the government so that more traffic can accommodate.
