There are so many great men born in India. They have become immortal to the people of India for their credit. B.R. Ambedkar (Babasaheb Ambedkar) was one of them. He is called the ‘Father of the Indian Constitution’. His full name was Bhimarao Ramji Ambedkar. He is popularly known as ‘Baba Saheb’ and ‘Modern Manu’ the lawgiver.
Dr. B.R. Ambedkar was born at Mhow in Madhya Pradesh on the 14th April, 1891. He passed M.A. in Economics from Columbia University (New York). He passed the M.Sc. and D.Sc. from London School of Economics.
Dr. Ambedkar began his legal practice at Bombay High Court in 1924. He was emerged as leader of the depressed classes. He led Satyagraha for political and social right, of ‘Untouchables’.
He was selected as the Representative at Round Table Conference from 1931 to 1934. He was nominated to Constituent Assembly. Dr. Ambedkar was the chief architect of India’s Constitution. He was the first Law Minister in Free India.
Dr. B.R. Ambedkar breathed his last in 1956. He is still remained in the mind of the people of India. On 14th of April, each year, Indian celebrate Ambedkar Jayanti to pay tribute to the great scholar.
